Is there enough patronage in this area to even warrant the 202 servicing it?
It's 1-2 blocks away from South Bank bus station and we've got the 196/199/glider which services the bit near Melbourne St.

I have used the 202 a few times from Cultural -> Gladstone Rd in this stretch and no one ever seems to get on or off. It just seems like a pointless diversion for the 202 to make.
There is quite a lot of residential development going on in this area so in the future it might warrant a service, I don't want to make an inner city black hole, close to everything but accessible to nothing. Could a 19x (192?) route be diverted down here rather than through West End? Might be a more fitting match but I'm not sure where it would go.

I can think of no good reason for this stretch to exist either.  202 should be entering the busway at Mater Hill, same as the 116.  South Bank, the Cultural Centre and the Melbourne St stops are all in easy walking distance.

Scrap it!

I'm sure of posted on this before.  As o_O says, basically no one uses it and it undermines the potential patronage of the 202.

However, I would go further and say that the 202 should be entering the busway at the Cornwall St/Juliette St ramps.

EDIT: street name correction

Cornwall St  ;)

Though if the 202 gets no loadings on this stretch, I doubt any other bus would.

I would be prepared to keep it running along Annerley Road.  This stretch has already lost the 105/107/108 in recent months, so any further reduction would become more significant.  Unless you want to increase the frequency on the 112 and 116 to something approaching a bus every 15 minutes along here (so both services running half-hourly and roughly co-ordinated).

113 sticks to Ipswich Rd.  116 is hourly.  112 is half hourly though.

I'm not quite sure what should be done for Annerley Rd.  It does have Park Rd & Dutton Park railway stations nearby but there is a fairly significant gap from Park Rd to Mater Hill.

I must say, I never supported the 105 running through the busway.  It would be better on Annerley Rd as its faster and serving more people.  107+108 as peak time runs make some sense as they might be faster and serving PAH has some merit.

In any event, with the 116 on Adelaide St and 112+105+202 on Alice St, the effective frequency is not high.

I think the priority for the 202 has to be the Chatsworth Rd service, rather than Annerley Rd.  Unless you are going to split it.  The current route is virtual dead running almost the entire way.

I think we could do away with the 202, 203 and P205 altogether.  Run the 200 down Samuel St and Chatsworth Road, then right onto Cavendish Road, then via current route; reroute the 201 to go to Scrub Road South instead of Cribb Road East at the far end; and upgrade frequencies on the 200, 201, 217 and 222 with the resulting resources.

Annerley Road could be solved by routing the 112, 113 and 116 to all go the same way at 30 min headways and having the same CBD stops.

I've suggested the same thing regarding the 200 (STB thought it daft), but I think the P205 can stay.

EDIT: Actually I suggested using the Cornwall/Juliette St ramps.  I don't know why you'd go via Cavendish Rd as what would serve the inner part then?  Modified 180 is an option, I guess.
