QuoteINFRASTRUCTURE Australia has placed priority on a $418 million project to ease freight transport by rail through Adelaide.

The task to upgrade the Torrens and Goodwood rail junctions was included in the annual National Infrastructure Priority List.

Up to $86 billion of proposals to improve road, rail and other infrastructure across the nation are on the list.

Other priority projects include motorways to improve road travel in capital cities including Adelaide. But plans to build ports on Eyre Peninsula at Port Bonython and Sheep Hill were seen as in early stages.
