Indigenous Tilt Train Launch - 6 May 2011

On May 6, 2011, Queensland Rail launched the indigenous artwork Tilt Train, which will operate between Brisbane and Cairns.
The project was a joint initiative between Queensland Rail and Arts Queensland.
Each train has seven carriages, measuring 150metres, making it Australia's longest piece of contemporary art.
Artists Alick Tipoti and Judy Watson worked iwth a graphic designer to translate their original artworks into a form that would fit the dimensions of each carriage.
The vinyl wrap was heated to 120 degrees to set the adhesive to full-cure strength.
It took 100 hours to aply the skin to just one carriage - that makes 700 hours for each Tilt Train.
