I dont get why they dont move the interchange to out the front of the myer store, seems more logical.
"Where else but Queensland?"

Less good for Indooroopilly shoppingtown, which owns the land and would also need to cooperate to have an entrance through to the movies/food court at times Myer is closed.  Losing that link would be a negative.

Still, I think the new stop is a plus. Gets rid of the dog leg around the shopping center to come into the interchange from Moggill Rd.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is the stop in the away from UQ direction?  If so, I support it, and have previously recommended such a change.

Yep. Only downside I can see atm is people getting held up by the traffic lights and missing their bus, or worse trying to run across through cars to make their bus.

I'm concerned that stop 'E' could be planned to be the far side of Musgrave Rd, rather than approaching it.  That would require crossing two roads, which is more inconvenient than necessary.

The other issue is that not all services to Chapel Hill or Kenmore will use the new stop, which is an issue which would be sorted with my "Western Brisbane Bus system proposal".

Well it says opposite the Pig n' Whistle IIRC, so that should mean just before the lights not after.

It should at that.  I wonder why stop 'E'?  There is no 'D'.  Perhaps allowing for it to go there in the future.

Perhaps they intend to rename the 88 bus stop? ;)

Timetables are now up.  Reported to Translink a couple of errors in the timetable: Loop around Indro shops remains, and some Ipswich trains are actually Richlands ones.

Quote"This package recognises that Indooroopilly train station will become an even more important hub in the network as it forms part of the new simplified express train stopping pattern," she said in a statement.

Great pity the planners didn't listen to the advice offered so freely a number of years ago now to incorporate proper bus interchange, as the redesign of Indooroopilly railway station was being considered.   Goes down as one of the great transport failures in Brisbane in the recent era ...

Anyone who has seen the tizzied up Indroo knows "M Mouse Constructions" did the work - everytime I see it, I look for the Disneyland Railroad to pull in any minute (hold on, Disneyland Railroad - Queensland Rail, the mind runs wild) - this station is strategically crucial to the inner west of Brisbane and a significant improvement is needed, to certainly include a major bus internchange!  (Moving footpath/escaltors to Citycat stop??)
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:
