Can we afford to wait untill 2015 or later for the Springfield line and why add only one line between Corinda and Darra.
The planning was done over 50 years ago for four tracks all the way to Ipswich and much of the earthworks and bridgework done.
Why not build the fourth line from Corinda to Darra while all the equipment and men are there, it would be far more cost efficent than commung back in a few years time to build it then and it would cater for increased and upgraded services on the Ipswich line as well.
Sorry must apologise I forgot that this is the Smart state, it must be because Mr Beattie told us so and my ears and wallet are still smarting.  :'( :-[ ??? :( but we must  ;D and bare it

I am very disappointed that the line is delayed too.

There does seem to be a distinct lack of big picture focus.
We can only keep trying to get better outcomes for a sustainable transport future.

I am a strong supporter of heavy rail but in the case of the Springfield line, I belive that as light rail would cost a lot less to build than heavy rail, and light rail can go to places that heavy rail can't reach, light rail should be built. Also, it would be wise to extend the line to Riply to serve what is soon to become a major suburb.

Although the arugement that if heavy rail is used on the Springfrield line, passengers won't need to change trains is correct, people need to change trains in many cases that is required, in any case. There are no trains from Ipswich to Beenleigh, for example.
