I have a question for you.

A friend of mine is a Bus Operator for Brisbane Transport. She was confronted by a man and had her cash tin taken from her. She was not harmed. What puzzled her the most was that the individual was more interested in her Sign On card. Every driver has one. He demanded the pin number for it. Naturally she informed her workplace supervisor's about this and was told not to worry.

What good is this card? Assuming that this person actually know's how to use the drivers computer, they would be unable to use it because Translink would just remote cancel the sign on card wouldn't they? Rendering it useless? Or do they actually need it to do so?

If he wanted his Go Card topped up wouldn't it be easier to just demand that instead?

Welcome!

Yes, not sure if the card would be of any use, as it would be immediately cancelled??

The only other possibility is that someone wanted to see if they could extract (hack) coding or something?   I am sure the law enforcement agencies would be aware of that.  I would be very surprised if the information on the card does not have high level encryption.

???
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...
