The 6:50 from Petrie left early this morning while passengers from the "connecting" 682 were crossing the foot bridge. It was so close I was able to abuse the driver telling him that it was only 6:49 as he was hanging out of his cabin! He left 50 or so people at Petrie to even more fill the next train.

What I don't get is Translink is there to encourage use of the "integrated" transport system, trains ferries' and buses included.

Why are they not doing more to keep the "connected" services working together? Same thig happens when we arrive at Petrie on a 1 or tow min late train and the but leaves without the passengers its only there for, leaving 30 -40 people behind. Surely even the drive must think it quiet on this buss tonight?

Having had some experience as a bus driver and having worked for a number of different operators over the years I can understand a train not waiting for a connection but the one rule that applies to both trains and buses is quite simple, never run early but do your best not to run late  Obviously a guideline that the Genius's from Translink have never heard of.
One operator I woprked for had a five minute rule on connections so if the connection was late we waited at least that long empty seats did not help pay wages and passangers seeing the tail lights of the bus dissaper around the corner tended to get slightly *i**ed off and tended to find other means of transport.
