Someone kindly sent me this link

--> http://web.archive.org/web/*hh_/translink.com.au/Fares

Has 2005, 2006, and 2007 TL fares for interest.

If someone has time they can be extracted and put in a document.  I might get to it later this week.

It might be useful to have them at some point in the future.

Interesting to note for me at least, the 2005 concession prices for a daily zones 1-3 (I travel mostly zones 3-5 which is the same thing), was $2.80.  Five years later, in 2010, using my concession Go Card, a return journey for me, to and from uni ie: leave in AM peak, return in off peak, which I did this semester just gone every Tuesday, is $1.60 to uni, and $1.44 from uni, total: $3.04, so to compare the journey I might've done in 2005, to today, it's gone up 24c which is roughly an 8% increase.

Now to compare 2011 prices with 2005 prices using the same situation...

$2.80 (2005 concession daily zones 3-5)

Concession Go Card $1.84 to uni in AM peak, $1.57 from uni in PM off peak, total - $3.41

Difference - 61c

In six years it's gone up roughly 18% for myself if I had been doing that same journey in 2005.

Ok, but the 1 zone weekly is 70% more expensive now.  And 62.5% for the 2 zone.

But on the other hand, hasn't the level of service also increased since 2005?
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Depends on where you live I guess and where you travel to.

For my area...
- There's now a 15 minute service between routes 250 and 270 from Capalaba and Brisbane City via Carindale and vice versa in peak hours. (in 2005, route 270 only operated hourly between Victoria Point and Capalaba)

- New routes 278, 279 and 285 which began on the 29th October 2007. (in 2005, confusing route structure on route 271 and constant complaints from Point Halloran residents not wanting to go via Victoria Pt and same from the Victoria Pt residents not wanting to go via Point Halloran)

- Routes 260 and 262 operate 7 days a week (in 2005, was known simply as route 260 and ran hourly Monday-Friday and every 90 mins on Saturdays, no service on Sunday)

- Additional peak hour services were added in the Redlands between 2005 and 2008.

- 15 minute train frequency extended in the AM peak between Cleveland and the City (in 2005, there was a 35 min gap IIRC between 8am and 8:35am ex Birkdale)

- Counter peak trains to Cleveland were altered to run every 30 mins instead of approximately every 45mins in 2008.

Brisbane area, not exhaustive, I'm sure others could add and feel free to correct me as I'm going off the top of my head here.

Between 2005 and 2010.

- Routes 140, 200, 345, and 412 are BUZed
- Introduction of high frequency routes 109, 139, 169 and 209 to UQ
- Introduction of routes 137, 153, 157
- Additional services on main routes ie: 111, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160 etc...
- Introduction of routes 332
- Additional trips on route 100
- 15 min frequency introduced on Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines in peak hour
- Introduction of route 222
- Roma St Busway and King George Busway stations open
- Introduction of BUZ route 444 and peak hour rocket 443 replacing half hourly route 440 and peak hour route 441
- Reconfiguration of old 19x services, extra trips added to route 199, increasing frequency from approximately 15-20mins to every 7-8mins
- Introduction of route 192 to UQ
- Reconfiguation and timetables adjusted to connect with trains on the 35x series routes (Albany Creek to City)
- Introduction of NightLink routes
- Introduction of routes 66 and 77

Probably a lot more, but that's what I can think of for the time being off the top of my head.

Significant improvements bus and ferry, rail some improvements especially at peak, but the timetable is much the same as it was in 1997.  Never fear,  must be rails turn now ... I am sure we will see a new beginning in 2011.

The Thredbo/Warren pdf lists these dates for BUZification:
130 Jan 04
385 Mar 04
150 Nov 04
200 Apr 05
199 Feb 06
345 Feb 06
444 Oct 06

140 was Feb 09 I think.

FWIW.

Close, but no cigar. I can't download the .pdf files from the archived web pages (as I would assume that web archives only store web pages and not linked downloadable files). Thanks for trying anyway.
