Should the CityCat be extended beyond St Lucia?
If so, where should it go and the stops be?
Where should the CityCat begin and end?
Should it be a new service or an express extension of the existing service?
Are there alternatives?

Voted yes as public transport is public transport and more is needed.  Why do those that said No vote that way? The question was not should it be extended as a matter of urgency and as a priority.  If that is taken out of the equation does that change peoples views.

Where would it go?  Yeronga West and St Lucia South are the only reasonable destinations, but then why not just improve the bus service there?  The citycat service is mostly a curiosity to me.

Living downstream from the City is a critical piece of the public transport network. it can be the same upstream as well.

There has been talk of bridges as well in the area. Its not clear whether these bridges are a long way off, and whether they will be green bridges (no cars) or black* bridges (cars allowed)

In theory, these would allow cycling to nearby destinations and transport hubs.
However, the frequencies of services on both sides of the river is terrible.

The reason why the CityCat extension has merit is because all other options do not allow crossing of the river.
A bridge is the only other option that allows river crossings. There is no bus that turns right into Ipswich Road or Fairfield road and services Yeronga from UQ St Lucia. Although modification and extension of the 104 into UQ Lakes might be an alternative option.

There's no direct bus to Bulimba, Tingalpa or many other closer places like Tarragindi.  I do not see how this is a big deal.

Route 104 is a bit of a lost opportunity IMHO. With an extension to UQ Lakes, the loadings on the PA hospital side of things could be increased.
But that was only one alternative. It was in response to your comment here:

My main point was, the shortest distance will be a straight line across the river.

That leaves 2 options: a new bridge or a ferry stop.
There is a lot of cycling around the area generally, it will be a close call whether a cycling and walking bridge or ferry route will be more beneficial.

Ah, Ok.

There is a third alternative, that Yeronga West people who are heading to UQ deal with needing to interchange at Mater Hill.
