No, shuttle applies equally to bus/rail here,  just a mis-tweet.

Extra Sunday rail service

QuoteExtra Sunday rail service

Zane Jackson | 2nd October 2010

RON Mallet spent 35 years working for Queensland Rail, the last decade of which he repeatedly asked authorities for an extra Sunday morning train service.

IPSWICH resident Ron Mallet spent 35 years working for Queensland Rail, the last decade of which he repeatedly asked authorities for an extra Sunday morning train service.

The Sadliers Crossing resident, who retired from QR in 2007, said his suggestions fell on deaf ears all those years until he chanced a meeting with Transport Minister and Ipswich MP Rachel Nolan.

Mr Mallet caught the MP walking down his street and asked her if she could put on an extra train from Ipswich to Rosewood on a Sunday morning.

He was pleasantly surprised when she looked into the timetable gap and found the extra services – leaving Ipswich at 7.08am for Rosewood and Rosewood back to Ipswich at 7.42am – could be accommodated.

"I always felt like it should be there because it is a big gap between 6.08am and 8.08am services," he said. "I just grabbed a hold of Rachel on the street and told her about it," he said.

Ms Nolan said the services will start in October, and would make the Sunday services consistent with Saturday.

"Ron spoke to me and pointed out the discrepancy in the timetable. I think it makes sense to have the same services over the weekend," Ms Nolan said.

"This is fantastic news for people who want to travel between Ipswich and Rosewood on Sunday mornings for work or leisure."
