QuoteCOLES will be forced to answer whether it is conning customers by hiking up the cost of petrol to pay for slashed milk prices.

The supermarket giant will be quizzed by a Senate committee about claims by a rival independent chain it may have lifted petrol rates to cover the cost of cutting the price of milk.

Get this. There is an entire senate committee wasting its time investigating this! Hello? Private business can charge whatever it likes!

QuoteThe Senate economics committee also heard fresh milk would become a luxury. Long-life milk would be used in the average Australian home if supermarket price wars went unchecked.

LOL! Oh the horror I might have to buy LONG LIFE MILK!!!  :-w Quick, declare a state of national emergency!!!

Week after week we are entreated to this rubbish that petrol prices are too high and the government "must" do something about it. Like what? Pay people to fill up their tanks?

Most people already have some access to public transport which is already subsidized.

Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

I thk the main thing with the Milk prices is the possibility it may drive dairy farmers off the land. This would mean we would have to import milk from other countries which would be ludicrous. This country was built on the land, we need to realise this country needs farmers to continue living with the high quality food we currently have access to.

No way in hell!!! It is a finite resource facing massive demand increase.  The price will go up and there is nothing we can do except break our cities addiction to petrol.  Draft press release on its way  >:D

...and don't get me started on the duopoly that our city planners have allowed by approving Coles and Woolworths boxes surrounded by car parking and road upgrades.  They have single handedly killed off the local shop or neighborhood centre.
