Regarding the Council bus 101 and 102 Services.

Can we please try and have some extra service on these routes.

I work at Coorparoo and want to use Public Transport to get home to Oxley.

I can get a Bus at Coorparoo at 4PM every 5 to 10 mins  to The City and the 104 Bus or train to Oxley ,but once I get to Corinda the last Bus is 6.14pm M-Friday.

If I do over time and work  to 5.30pm it is not possible to get the 102 home.

The 101 and 102 Timetable has not change since 2007.

I think if Council want us to use Public transport Council  should be trying to run Busses till at least 7.14 at the minimum.

Also the Sunday  timetable only has 4 services at 9.30 ,11.30am and 3 and 5pm.

So if you want to go out or  have few  Drink on a Sunday it is a long walk home.

I know it cost money to provide these  services , but I think it time for a change in the Oxley /Inala  Area, when I can get a BUS TO KENMORE  every 15 min off peak .

I hope you can look into this and get back to me.

Maybe a 6 month trail of extended service??????

I know what they are complaining about. The idea of feeder services in the suburbs that stop running by around the 6pm mark is ludicrus. These are the services that get people from the main through routes to their homes, the things that make people actually think about using PT rather than just driving, and they stop them running at a time which means that anyone who finishes work late, or has a some shopping or whats to chat to people after they finish can't use them.

The 101/102 are certainly not the only routes such as this but I would definatly support a trial of running these services to a later time. Even if they only put say one extra service on at 7pm, people would use it.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What are the other routes that do this?

I don't know all of them, but the 362 between The Gap to Brookside which is the only route through the sidestreets of Keperra has its last service leave The Gap at 4.56pm getting to Brookside at 5.27pm and the last service the otherway leaving Brookside at 5.21pm arriving at The Gap at 5.49pm. The last 398 from Brookside (which covers some of Samford Rd) leaves at 4.02pm. Although the 398 does continue to run from Ferny Grove back to Mitchelton until the last service leaves FG at 9.29pm, which isn't particularly convenient for those who its quicker to go the other way.

Something definitely needs to be done about this awful situation with western suburb feeder routes. I expect Translink to utilise the opportunity with the Richlands extension, Corinda-Darra Upgrade and 2011 Ipswich timetable to completely reform the 101 and 102, as well as the other western suburb feeder routes - 103, 104, 106, 451, 452, 462, etc.

For those who aren't familiar, the current 101/102 timetable has a 2 hourly frequency on Sundays - what a farce!

2011 Ipswich timetable
What takes them so long to write a timetable?

Maybe a trial is required?
