Interesting......I wonder why Sunshine Coast locals want to double up here, Translink already provide this information
Quotestand alone Council transport website – incorporating routes, timetables, trip planner, fare details and incorporate details from multiple transport providers (i.e. not just Translink service providers);

And this one
Quotebus design – size to suit travel demand, comfort, prams, disability, bike rack trials, fuelling options – gas, electric, diesel;
Gas buses....unlikely?? Bike rack trails......a possibility, it might work on the coast!!

The TransLink website, indeed the entire TransLink network is only integrated up to a certain point. For example, it is not integrated with cycling. You can't say "I want to cycle from place X and go to place Y" with the journey planner. You can't see the maps either- for that you have to go to the local council website and that is the customer's problem. Of course, few people will bother to do that, and the result? Jump in the car.

A lot of the flexi link type services are also not search-able on the TL website, or are hidden because people don't realise they have to click "show all services". The "all services" option should be on by default. The classic was a bus service to Maleny which I never knew about.

I'm with tramtrain on this one. I think there is a need for info for non-Translink services. QConnect comes to mind, so does active transport.

The FlexiLink service operates across the SC hinterland on a trial basis until the end of the financial year, yet not enough people know about it.  People have to pre-book a bus-like service that operates to a fixed timetable, subject to demand.  A maxi-taxi picks you up on the route for a fixed fee -- usually $2 each way.   If enough interest is shown, no doubt they will become permanent bus routes.  This initiative deserves encouragement, as it could easily work elsewhere in SEQ.  One benefit has been that more cabs are out and about in the hinterland when normal cab bookings are made.  It is not unusual for someone to wait for 45mins for a cab that has to come from Noosa or Maroochydore to hinterland areas.  The cab company is able to provide a more responsive service, so it is a symbiotic relationship with the SC Council, which is subsidising FlexiLink from its annual transport levy on ratepayers.

That is exactly what is needed to the Port of Brisbane.

Completely crazy idea, but maybe they could be used as cheap peak hour feeder services to rail stations with lower demand?
A flexilink maxi taxi carries 10 people, it could do multiple runs at high frequency in local areas cheaply. TL has something like this around Prince Charles Hospital http://www.translink.com.au/flexilink.php but it still isn't treated like other PT.

Maybe those people in Hemmant, ATC and POB CAN get their PT service after all. Just requires people to think outside the box.

That Hinterland QConnect service (alongside the Landsborough-Maleny Qconnect service) should have been a TransLink service from Day One.  Same with that Caboolture-Kilcoy Qconnect service.

QConnect and TransLink bus services overlapping doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Surely it doesnt cost much to transfer Glasshouse Country Coaches from QConnect to TransLink (not counting the paperwork)?
