Shorncliffe-Corinda services

As you are probably aware, the 15 minute frequency to Corinda cuts out at around 6:30pm on a weeknight heading outbound from Central, and doesn't apply at all on weekends.

Since the new 2010 timetable is now put back until 2011 sometime, is it worth prodding Translink to extend the operating hours to later in the evening for these trains as well as implementing them on the weekend?

I know this would reduce weekend frequency at South bank, but I don't see how this is a big deal.

I do!  :P

The weekend service to South Bank is perfect for us Shorncliffe Liners as we can go to the movies or take our families for a swim without having to change trains in the city.

(That being said, I'm sure it wouldn't be that much of a hassle to wait a few minutes in the city.  It's just easy to become accustomed to the convenience.)

I'm taking that last comment as tongue in cheek.

What I've noticed is that weekday commuters are less frequency sensitive than weeknight at weekend commuters.  And this is what the BUZ service experience has found.

I forsee the extension of operating hours inevitable with the impending opening of the Corinda to Darra upgrade. If Translink decide not to, then they will do it when Richlands. I would be very surprised if this did not happen.

I understand that some may want the operating hours extended immediately, but surely a couple of months wait won't hurt?

A possibility.  You may have noticed that I'm not always particularly optimistic.
