Conflicting moves - a comparison

TT was interested in a list of problems with our train network.  Well, here's a start, although I'm not including anything north of Caboolture or west of Ipswich.

Conflicting moves - Brisbane
Returning to Mayne via Roma St #7 - conflicts with inbound trains on two tracks and outbound trains on 1 track
Returning to Mayne via Roma St #8 - conflicts with inbound trains from the Ipswich line
Roma St #7 starters - conflicts with trains on the Ipswich line in both directions
Bowen Hills #3 starters from Mayne conflict with trains to the Caboolture and Shorncliffe lines
outbound peak GC trains conflict with inbound trains at South Brisbane
inbound Cleveland line trains conflict with outbound Beenleigh line trains and Gold Coast trains off peak & counter peak at Park Rd
outbound PM peak Gold Coast trains conflict with inbound Beenleigh line trains at Kuraby
outbound Corinda via Tennyson trains conflict with inbound Beenleigh and Gold Coast trains
inbound trains via Tennyson conflict with outbound PM peak Gold Coast trains
inbound trains from Caboolture accessing the suburbans (if any) conflict with outbound Shorncliffe trains at Northgate
outbound airport & Doomben trains conflict with inbound trains on the surburbans (if any)
northbound Caboolture #2 & #3 terminators block southbound trains at Caboolture
using Caboolture #1 as a turnback blocks northbound trains unless they use the southbound track.  And approaching Caboolture #2 or #3 from the south similarly blocks trains to the south
getting to the middle road north of Northgate from the mains blocks the mains inbound and the suburbans outbound at Northgate
The Richlands branch will add a host of others.  In theory at present most of the conflicting moves at Corinda and Milton could be timetabled around, but I don't believe they are.
I haven't detailed these because they are subject to change due to Richlands.
There might be some at Ipswich station too, but probably easily able to be timetabled around.  I.e. by using #2 & #3 as the turnaround platforms

Conflicting moves - Sydney - post Clearways
Crossing from the mains to suburbans and suburbans to locals inbound at Macdonaldtown conflicts with trains not crossing in the other direction.  And vice versa outbound.  This one should be solved by Western Express
inbound south line trains conflict with outbound western line trains if those trains are on the suburbans at Granville
outbound Newcastle/Central Coast trains conflict at Strathfield with inbound trains on the Western main line and 200m later with inbound trains from Epping - this one may be eliminated by making these trains North Sydney starters
Outbound Lidcombe via Bankstown trains conflict with inbound Liverpool via Villawood and Bankstown trains at Regents Park
Outbound Berowra trains via Gordon conflict with inbound Newcastle and Central Coast trains via Strathfield at Hornsby
inbound trains from Cronulla conflict with outbound trains to Waterfall and the South Coast at Sutherland
Outbound trains from Bondi Junction #2 block access for inbound trains to #1
Trains entering service from Macdonaldtown stabling conflict with outbound trains on the Western local line
Starters from Laverton Bay (not sure if this is in use) would conflict with outbound North Shore trains at Waverton
Campbelltown terminators need to block inbound trains while approaching the platform
Macarthur terminators need to block inbound trains while approaching the platform - although this may be resolved in clearways
I think there may be some on the Illawarra at Hurstville - not sure about this one, and it's not obvious that there is a problem here.
EDIT: I did forget about inbound Campbelltown via Sydenham (AM peak only) conflicting with outbound via Bankstown trains - would be solved by canceled Erskenville - Sydenham sextuplication
EDIT: Also forgot about inbound Liverpool via Bankstown trains conflicting with outbound Liverpool/Glenfield/Campbelltown via Granville trains at Cabramatta

If anyone can list such a thing for Melbourne and/or Perth, I'd be interested

Some other relevant statistics:
Stations Trips p.a.Route Length
City Rail305~290m2050km
CityTrain14360m740km

The frustrating thing is that many (not all) of the remaining conflicting moves in SEQ could be easily fixed.  Another annoying thing is that many crossovers are located at positions that aren't adjacent to stations, although that applies in Sydney all too often to.

If you would like I could add a list of conflicting moves eliminated by the Clearways plan.  The Campbelltown turnback problem seems to be a glaring omission.  Perhaps they will abolish Campbelltown terminating trains.

The point about the above is that CityRail have junctions at:
Blacktown
Granville
Clyde
Cabramatta
Wolli Creek
Central
Redfern
Chatswood
Epping
Strathfield
Lidcombe
Regents Park
Sutherland
Sydenham
Hornsby

Whereas CityTrain have junctions at
Northgate
Eagle Junction x2
Bowen Hills
Roma St
Park Rd
soon to be Darra

The latter have far more conflicting moves than the former in spite of many more junctions in the former.
