With the single track on the Sunshine Coast Line, there are passing opportunities at every station to Landsborough, but none after Landsborough until Nambour.  Therefore, it seems achievable to have an hourly train service as far as Landsborough with a railbus (630/631) meeting every train which doesn't continue on.  This should also allow abolition of the 649 Caboolture-Nambour railbus.

I agree, but still have the normal timetabled nambour trains and roma street trains from nambour aswell?

Yes, still keep Nambour and Gympie North trains.  Not on the same timetable though!

Hmmmm. I like to have simplicity and predictability in the timetable.

Hourly trains to Landsborough is better than 2-hourly. While we're at it, improve the connecting buses at Landsborough Station to meet each of the hourly trains. There are 2 hour gaps in the timetable for some services.

605 (Kawana) and 615 (Maroochydore) timetable will likely to be changed to meet the trains if it ever happens.  They were formerly the "TrainLink" integrated buses pre-TL.

As for Landsborough to Nambour, My suggestion would be extending only the Route 630 to be the dedicated "railbus" from Noosa to Landsborough via Nambour.  Perhaps change the route number from 630 to "625" in line with 605/615.   This would allow the abolition of Route 649.

A Noosa-Landsborough roundtrip would take about 3 hours total (approx 90 mins each way), so driver breaks can be taken at Noosa or Landsborough.

As per previous posts, I'd convert Route 631 to be the "local" service operating half-hourly.  Cooroy, Yandina and Eumundi does deserve a frequent local service to Noosa/Nambour, rather than a infrequent timetable that's based around the train timetable.

There's passing loops at all the train stations between Beerburrum and Nambour, there's even 3 tracks at Palmwoods!

Thats true but theres only one platform at Mooloolah to Woombye so some trains will have to reverse to the loop road to pass like some do now
