    * 2. Boundary Road near Orange Grove Road, Coopers Plains;

QuoteThese included the Brisbane intersections of South Pine Rd and Stafford Rd; Mains Rd and Kessels Rd; Gympie Rd and Hamilton Rd; Logan Rd and Padstow Rd; Miles Platting Rd, Gympie Rd and Beams Rd; Jubilee Tce and Coopers Camp Rd and the roundabout at Milton Rd, and Miskin St and Frederick St.

Some places in there could be served by the Northern Line (Trouts Road Line)

Careful.  The road advocates will say that this is why it needs to be a major road without rail!   :P

Did love a couple of the comments on one of those articles. In particular the one saying that instead of building the redcliffe rail line it would be more beneficial for people up there to upgrade a couple of the highway intersections and roads up there. ::)
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This is the elephant in the room that no one mentions.  Lots of evidence, inquiries and submissions highlighting that more roads solve nothing and make congestion worse.  No media coverage at all.  What vested interests are stopping the debate?

Is that the intersection where the bus interchange is? That seems pretty decent compared to some others....

Yeah, that's the intersection.  I also can't see what's so bad about the design of that intersection itself, although it's been a little while since I have been there.  Probably the main problem is that there is just so much traffic congestion through there.

   Transit lanes are a waste - maybe if our traffic flowed OK, but with our poor traffic flows, they would be better dispensed with. They're nearly empty most of the time, can't be used if there is an accident. And the double white lines are continually being crossed on the M3 sections, generally because someone gets into it and drives at a leisurely 80km/hr. It might be a "good idea" to politicians to try to get more than one person in a car, but when I drive on the M3/M1, it is from Daisy Hill to Holland Park - and nobody near me wants to go there. They are pointless.

The SOV (single occupant vehicle) motorist.

   What a joke all these new tunnels and tolls are. Roads should be transforming into rail and light rail networks, not more roads. There is no future in the automobile and there hasn't been for over a decade but still no-one listens. Remember peak oil and the ozone layer anyone??

An interesting idea.

   A train line straight up through the guts of the motorway will be an absolute winner considering the southside has an appalling train network. They can do it with these waste of time busways. They did it in Perth, provisioned straight the middle of the freeway, works well, always full, if they did that, you will soon see less traffic moving on the freeway. Simple thinking there, but not sure politicians know the meaning of the word.....

Any ideas for Brisbane?
