Card Failures

Witnessed something very unusual today.

Passenger boarded bus and swiped- go card in hand, with nothing else nearby. No response.
Tried again. No response.
Another passenger tried to assist. No response

Other passengers boarded- all their cards all worked. Bus driver had to give the guy a free ride.

Some GoCards don't work!

I have seen that happen the odd time, always on buses mind you.

Failed GoCards
7 years at Bayside Buses
33 years at Transport for Brisbane
Retired and got bored.
1 year at Town and Country Coaches and having a ball !

So there must be quite a few dead go cards on the system...

Though I find faulty go card equipment far more often than faulty go cards.
