A 14-year-old boy has been charged with firearms offences after stepping on to a train at Toombul on Brisbane's northside allegedly armed with an air rifle.
Police were called to the station at about 2.20pm yesterday after concerned commuters on the southbound Sandgate-line train raised the alarm.

The boy initially claimed he found the firearm but further enquiries revealed the air rifle was allegedly stolen.

He was charged with going armed in public, stealing and possessing a firearm.

A Queensland Rail spokeswoman said a number services experienced minor delays as a result of the incident.

The youth is due to appear in the Brisbane Children's Court on February 3rd.

Commuters were forced off a Brisbane-bound passenger train in the city's north yesterday after a 14-year-old boy allegedly entered a carriage armed with an air rifle.

The train had been travelling from Caboolture to Central when police were alerted about the boy about 2.20pm

A Queensland Rail spokeswoman said the train was stopped at Toombul and all passengers removed while officers dealt with the incident.

"People were taken off that train and moved to another one straight away, so there were delays of only a few minutes," she said.

The boy is due to appear in the Brisbane Children's Court charged with stealing and possessing a firearm in public, police said.

Great journalism... was the train from Sandgate/Shorncliffe or from Caboolture??  (Depends which article you read.)  Also, no train terminates at Central!
