Sorry for the whinge here but I'd have to say the Sunshine Coast region (Sunshine Coast Sunbus / Buslink territory) would have some of the worst / 2nd grade bus stops (seating/shelter/accessibility) out of the entire TRANSLink area.

Yes this is something that needs to be fixed immediately. All bus stops should have at least some form of pavement and ramp for DDA access if necessary. Along with a TransLink shelter and lighting.

Sunshine Coast bus stops are either:
-hidden - hard for bus drivers to view waiting commuters, or hard for commuters to view incoming buses.  Normally due to road corners, vegetation, close proximity of carparking or other structures;
-squashed interchanges, Nambour rail and Sunshine Plaza come to mind, very little area for people to manoeuvre while bus bays are occupied, need at least another 2m clearance between seating and bus bays;
-not DDA compliant; or
-in the middle of nowhere without shade and/or seating and/or clear flat footpath access.

The footpath/curb at the bus stop near the Nambour General Hospital has **FINALLY** been extended and improved since this safety issue went public however us Nambour local's would really like to see one of the new TRANSLink bus shelters (you know TTA exec's, the same modern ones that are up in the Noosa/Tewantin area) to replace the old shelter that's been there since about 1980  >:D
