SEQ:  Go card auto top up online

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has welcomed the activation of the auto top up function for the go card.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Commuters have long wondered when the auto top up function for the go card would be turned on (1).  We are delighted that it is now activated."

"Many RAIL Back On Track Members have already activated their go cards for auto top up (2)."

"The auto top up capability is important and we would encourage go card users to register their cards and make use of the full functionality.  It avoids the need to hold up buses on which go cards may be topped up, it avoids the need to find other outlets to top up.  Just set and go!"

"We again call for some further additions to the go card fare structure.  Capping and a periodical ticketing option for the go card fare structure would we believe complete the go card basic package. The Melbourne myki card has these options (3).  It is smart and will drive an enthusiastic uptake."
