Looks like the Qld State Election may be called soon.

Back On Track will be asking the various political parties what their position is with regards to rail throughout the state.  The need to maintain all lines in an operating condition, and what they plan to do with new lines  and rolling stock urgently required in SE Queensland?

Any questions you want answered?  Post them here and we will ask for responses when the time is right.

The Premier of Queensland has just announced a general election for Saturday 9th September.

Of particular interest will be transport, particularly rail policies.  Please write to your candidates and seek their views.  Lets make votes count!

I have forwarded our recent media releases to the Labor party  and National Party.

Responses from Labor has been encouraging.  The responses from the Nationals have been less than satisfactory.

There will be some policy announcements as the campaign proceeds from both sides I trust.

I have been advised that provision for rail is being made in the Petri to Kippa-Ring corridor, and that attention is being given to the projects so far announced to ensure completion eg.  North Coast line upgrade, Darra to Springfield line, Gold Coast line upgrades, Ferny Grove line works, triplication Corinda to Darra.

Pleasing is the aknowledgement the critical role rail now plays and will increasingly play in the future for public transport in Queensland.

Keep your local candidates in the loop.  Public transport - rail is an important issue for all our futures!

Best wishes
