SEQ:  Rosewood line resumes normal services

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has welcomed the announcement of completion of the works on the Sadliers Crossing railway bridge and the resumption of the previous Citytrain timetable on Wednesday 11th November (1).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Commuters who use the Rosewood railway line will no doubt welcome the return of peak and off peak rail services.  One benefit of the interim timetable put in place for the bridge works was that the weekday gap between 4.38 pm and 5.51 pm  for Ipswich to Rosewood services was addressed with additional services; a 4.52 pm rail service and a bus service at 5.12 pm."

"With the restoration of the previous timetable there is no mention of any additional services to address the huge peak time gap.  It is bizarre to say the least that the gap between services from 4.38 pm and 5.51 pm is greater than the gaps between services in off peak!  Surely something can to done to alleviate this long wait at Ipswich and in so doing encourage more people to use public transport?"
