Three day poll.

There was a suggestion that the GCL be given a flat fare. Other suggestion was to leave it as it is in the TL fare zone structure.
You decide.

Flat fares make sense as the zone system doesnt apply as well in this type of route
"Where else but Queensland?"

Gazza

Leave it as it is, since the fare structure should just stay the same for everything to avoid confusion or complexity.

You could equally say that flat fare doesn't apply either, since you could only be doing a short hop, or could be doing a long trip going halfway around the circle.

The zone structure has its limitations, but why focus on only the limitations that apply to this route?

Golliwog

One network, one fare system. Argue for capping, periodicals, whatever, but not flatfares. Flexilink having its own seperate fare system is bad enough.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Perhaps re-align the fare zones so that the GCL is within Zone 3 all the way round. Possibly include zone overlaps (such as those in Toombul and Indooroopilly) in more areas. Voilà, no need for a separate fare structure, and you keep fares down to a one-zone.

Nice idea!!! :)

Perhaps not realigning the routes but simply setting route 598/599 entirely in zone 3, even if it does technically run into zone 4.  A current example of this is route 198 where while it does run into zone 1, it's entirely placed as a zone 2 only route.

STB, I meant to ask you about 198. Is it really useful running in a loop, one way??

These ideas sound great...

QuoteWhy bother?

Were you referring to 198 or 599/598??

Why bother messing with the fare structure only for this one route?  In fact, you can get quite a bargain here, like from Cannon Hill to Chermside for only a 1 or 2 zone fare!
