SEQ:  BUZ it!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has called for a BUZ 450 bus service (1), and bus priority treatments in from the Western Suburbs.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"A BUZ 450 bus service will greatly simplify transport to and from the CBD and make western suburbs bus services more usable."

"The routing of a BUZ 450 to feed Darra Rail station should also be implemented (2). More effort needs to be made to upgrade feeder bus services generally to rail stations and bus stations on busways, in so doing assisting in avoiding the now chronic bus delays on roads in inner Brisbane, particularly western approaches (3). Time to move forwards with a true integrated network, frequent rail services with seamless coordinated bus-rail transfers."

"The introduction of a BUZ 450 bus service will also permit the re-organisation of and frequency improvements to other services such as 453 and 454 bus routes."

"Bus priority treatments such as bus lanes on Coronation Drive and priority at intersections should also be considered to prevent bus services becoming stuck in the notorious Coronation Drive congestion."
