Anyone know how the one train per month schedule is going?

Did we get one in November and then December 2008? Maybe Santa will bring 1.5 or even 2 trains per month to help ease the congestion?

I've been wondering about that myself and have been keeping an eye on the Mayne rail yards.  I haven't been up to Maryborough recently - and won't even be going up for Xmas.  I have a feeling that they accumulate around 3 or 4 at Maryborough and Maryborough West stations and then bring them down together.  If they did this once every 3 or 4 months, it would average 1 train per month.

Surely we must be due for another delivery!

It would seem that pregnancy is necessicary to have a delivery but in this case a cesarian might be necessicary because it would seem that the delivery schedule for SMU's for QR has been shunted so that the deliveries for Transperth can be made on time.

Certainly the next new SMU is so overdue that the pregnancy may need to be induced!

As well as the next three just to maintain the promised rate of deliveries since captain Bligh announced that there was one delivery a month.
Seems like a french election complete with guillotine might be required to provide some political motivation and honesty.

What is the latest SMU sighted in service, seems there was a delivery to Transperth in December how many did Citytrain receive?

As a tax payer (both income and GS) and a resident of Queensland I have to say that I am very disappointed with the performance of Bombardier EDI (is that what they're calling themselves these days?). Where are my trains?

I know this might sound a-bit dumb of me (I'm a newbie afterall). But are there enough QR crews to work all the new trains coming on-board? I know there was a (media-reported) issue in the last year or two with crew sickness and such.

Very pertinent point Glen.

Yes, as I understand it there is a progressive increase in crew to match the increasing demands as more rollingstock is introduced.

Does anyone have an update - halfway through May 2009 we should have had 5 new 3 car sets delivered and in service this year but from reading the forums it might well only be two possibly three which is somewhat less than one per month.

The rate of non deliveries of the new sets might be something that should be brought to the notice of Transport Minister Nolan.
She resolved the failure of Translink to provide Go Card equipment at Ipawich Station in a matter of weeks from being made aware of the problem so maybe she can pull another rabbit out of the hat, if nothing else the outcome could be interesting if not benefical.

I have to congratulate the new minister and the local state member - whispers had suggested the 2 day opened Oxley rail footbridge was probably not going to be opened for at least another few weeks perhaps months.... but after queries to them as to to why the opening date of 18 December 2008 was missed and no additional information forthcoming and then 5 more months passing without an opening ... in the matter of a few days, the footbridge was opened.

I was thinking to myself the other day that maybe someone should have told the new incoming transport minister that the previous minister and the current premier had committed to a train per month, or at least approximately one train per month .....

mufreight

It would seem that when Minister Nolan becomes aware or a problem that she acts to have that problem resolved, a quite considerable and most welcome difference to the previous Minister
