MIKE Horan, Rob Messenger and Steve Dickson have been dumped from the LNP's front bench and former Liberal leader Bruce Flegg has made a return.

In a new-look LNP front bench unveiled today, Mr Horan and Mr Messenger will be party whip and deputy (respectively) with Mr Dickson moving to the backbench, while former Liberal leader Bruce Flegg has been appointed Shadow Minister for Education and Training.

Mark McArdle will remain Shadow Health Minister, while Tim Nicholls will keep Treasury.

Two backbenchers promoted to the Shadow Ministry are Glen Elmes (Climate Change) and Bundaberg MP Jack Dempsey (Child Safety and Sport).

LNP deputy leader Lawrence Springborg will be Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Minister for Trade.

John-Paul Langbroek - Opposition Leader and Arts

Lawrence Springborg - Deputy Opposition Leader and Attorney-General and Trade

Mark McArdle - Health

Tim Nicholls - Treasury, Employment and Economic Development

Jann Stuckey - Public Works and Information and Communication Technology

Jeff Seeney - Natural Resources, Mines and Energy

Bruce Flegg - Education and Training

Vaughan Johnson - Police and Corrective Services

Ted Malone - Emergency Services and Northern Development

Ray Hopper - Primary Industries, Fisheries, Rural and Regional Queensland

Fiona Simpson - Transport and Main Roads

Howard Hobbs - Local Government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Partnerships

David Gibson - Infrastructure and Planning

Rosemary Menkens - Community Services and Housing, and Women

Glen Elmes - Climate Change and Sustainability

Andrew Cripps - Disability Services and Multicultural Affairs

Ray Stevens - Tourism and Fair Trading

Jack Dempsey - Child Safety and Sport

Mike Horan - Opposition Whip

Rob Messenger - Opposition Deputy Whip

The question arises with the placing in the list of portfolios of transport and main roads as against other portfolios as to just how seriously the LNP regards transport and transport infrastructure with paticular emphasis on rail transport.
