PREMIER Colin Barnett is set to announce extended free travel on bus, trains and ferries for seniors, believed to be starting next month.
At the moment seniors can travel free on Sundays, public holidays and senior's week.

But the Premier is expected to announce on Sunday free travel all day Saturday and Sunday and during various hours on weekdays for seniors and disability support pensioners.

Originally, it was proposed that the groups could travel free from 10 am till 3pm on weekdays but Mr Barnett is expected to announce today an extension of those times.

The free travel plan was initially promised by Labor during the election, but the Liberals matched the commitment.

It was supposed to be introduced by Christmas but the new government missed the deadline.
