Isn't Darra a Zone 3 station? The article is suggesting, (with respect to the Ipswich line) possibly for dramatic effect that the majority of trips are made from Indooroopilly to CBD, when Indooroopilly is a zone 2 station not zone 3. Lots more could be said about interpreting the stats as well, for example those living in the 12km ring around the CBD and catching public transport are more likely to work in the CBD moreso than the population of Caboolture or Ipswich for example who may tend to have a higher work around where they actually live.

The population density is much higher as you get closer to the city - so of course there will be more people catching public transport!

Darra is a Zone3/4 Station and is really quite good value for the distance it is from the city. Wacol is Zone 5 which means there isn't really a Zone 4 station on the Ipswich line.
