MR J BLEIJIE asked the Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development,
Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister Assisting the Premier on
Olympic and Paralympic Games Infrastructure (HON S MILES) –

QUESTION:

With reference to the 2017 ShapingSEQ measures of success for transport—

Will the Deputy Premier provide the most recently available data (in the same format
as the 2011 baseline data provided in the plan) for (a) mode share (all trips) for car,
public transport and active transport, (b) average travel time (all trips), (c) average
travel distance (all trips) and (d) public transport boardings per capita per year?

ANSWER:

Measures on the success for transport is reported in the 'Measures that Matter' of
ShapingSEQ 2017— regional indicators organised under the plan's five themes of
Grow, Prosper, Connect, Sustain and Live. Transport related information is contained
within the Connect theme.

(a) In 2021 (most recent data available), the mode share (all trips) was:

Public Transport 5.0%
Walking 10.0%
Cycling 2.0%

(b) In 2021 (most recent data available), the average travel time (all trips) was
22 minutes.

(c) In 2021 (most recent data available), the average travel distance (all trips) was
10 kilometres.

(d) In 2021 (most recent data available), there was an average of 33.5 public transport
boardings per capita.

COVID-19 had a significant impact on public transport boardings.
