So I caught this bus today. Quite good actually and FREQUENT!

Lots of people doing interchange at Eagle Junction Rail going to Toombul!
Counted about 12 - 15 people from my trip beginning at Everton Park. Nicely surprised.

I caught it the other weekend. While we were the only ones using it at that time I have seen people using it since then. The only complaint I would have is when we were on it the driver stopped for a lady but she said she wanted the city. I have to say this is when the driver should of pointed out interchange at Kedron Brook station but he didn't so he drove off.

Apart from that my otherhalf & I have agreed we will use it if the 375 does not turn up first.

I haven't used it in peak, and while I haven't experienced heavy loads, It gets a few getting on and off along Stafford Rd, most notably (funnily enough) around intersections with Old Northern Rd and the one the 345 goes down.

I'd be interested in seeing the patronage figures for this route, particularly if you could get it broken down to which stop pax got on and off at. If the patronage keeps growing, this should be a great route as it has the potential to fill up and empty out a few times along each run.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

With the closure of Toombul this now reignites the immediate need for the 369 to turnaround at Skygate once again.

I agree, however if there continues to be an interchange (whether is be inline or next to Toombul station) it should call there first to allow for transfers to routes that continue to terminate at Toombul.

Hard no.  This will either result in duplication with other services (which is completely unjustified, along with nearly every other duplication of service in this wretchedly planned network), or force people travelling on the 590 to transfer at Skygate when they likely aren't going there.

Far better that the Gateway to Skygate service goes as far as Toombul, where the 369 and other local services will continue to terminate.

Agree with surfrail. No need for pointless duplication. And with the closure of Toombul many routes are now struggling for patronage as other areas now draw those same users.

The duplication is minimal. It can provide increased frequency from Toombul to Skygate for people wishing to connect with the train. Skygate is an ideal transfer point for Skygate customers and workers, airport workers as well as travellers.

I think that there needs to be a recognition now that Skygate is a suburban centre in itself and with Toombul out of action for the next few years, some routes might need to change. There are other changes in the urban fabric - Everton Park has developed an urban centre and more or less replicates the shopping centre at Brookside.

In a new bus network, one possibility to consider is altering route 300 to terminate at DFO. A separate cross-town bus would then complete the network between DFO-Toombul and the rail network at Toombul station. Candidates for this cross-town service are routes 599/598, 590 or an extended 369.

(For the record, Route 369 always had excellent patronage between Toombul-DFO when it ran. In an ideal network, it would continue through DFO and on to the International and Domestic Airport terminals).

Sky gate is not a suburban centre. Its far from it. Dfo is a very limited draw card for patronage and the warrant for service frequency. It's also not suited of public transport when it comes to families. The bulk if not all shops open at 10am and close at 5pm. Only woolworths is open 24 hours and a handful of others are open from 9-6.

With the closure of Toombul most now go to Nundah village, Nudgee road or Lutyche due to ease of access and where you prefer to shop. Lutyche has seen a massive increase in people using it (coles, woolworths and Aldi where as Nudgee road at Doomben, dfo and Nundah village are all woolworths only). Dfo is a pain to access and if you were a local would require you to drive past another shopping area to access it.

The 369 had okay patronage - not excellent but okay - but only at particular times. Morning and evening services were dreadful. It's patronage was propped up because it ran just before the 598 which took a hit in patronage and became an air parcel.

People need to stop over hyping the area as a reason to extend services there and eventually to the airport.

SurfRail

Yes, I'm not understanding the enthusiasm for it.  It's a small precinct with no residential, no education, no real leisure opportunities except for retail (that I'm aware of) - it's just a fairly unimportant shopping centre serving the outskirts of the airport.

It's best served by the 590 since it already goes through there, and has to continue past it to take passengers somewhere on the wider network, since the only connections available here are to the Brisbane Airport services (which again aren't going to be a massive drawcard).
