More services for Newcastle

From Sunday 3 April, more than 160 bus, ferry and light rail services each week will be added to improve connectivity and integration between modes and services and improve coverage and service frequency.

Service improvements from 3 April 2022 will include:

Introduction of a new express route, the 10X, between Charlestown and Newcastle CBD
Extending the On Demand hours from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays
Improving the frequency on the light rail on weekends to 15 minutes between 7am and 1am
Improving the frequency on the ferry from Monday to Saturday
Bus timetables have been adjusted to improve reliability and connectivity across modes
Overall, over 160 additional public transport trips per week

Some school timetables have also been adjusted to better reflect congestion and travel times to get students to and from school in the Newcastle Transport area.
