Plan to have a luncheon at the Commercial Hotel Redbank to ' celebrate ' three years of NGR.

The Commercial Hotel has some rail history and serves an affordable good meal.

I will try to be there ( no guarantee )... Arrive back from NZ the previous Saturday...

Speaking of NGR, 753 and 754 are at FI...
7 years at Bayside Buses
33 years at Transport for Brisbane
Retired and got bored.
1 year at Town and Country Coaches and having a ball !

ozbob

Thanks for the interest all!   :-c

I had a quick look at Redbank yesterday.  NGR 701 & 715 are still there, resting quietly in the sunshine.   :fp:

Will have to go and check it out.  Good news.  I wonder if 715 is still there?

Still having our luncheon ...   :P

715 will probably be either repaired or receive a new lead car at the end of the production run, once the factory can generate spare parts or car.

ozbob

Yo.  I expect it might go back to Wulkuraka too ( or possibly direct to Maryborough ).
There was a QR DEL fairly adjacent 2472, but might be there for maintenance.

Seems not much point having it all by itself at Redbank for much longer ..

:P

A ' highlight ' was the arrival of NGR 701 at Progress Rail Redbank on the 21st December 2017.

I heard a NGR brake at Corinda a short while ago. High pitched squeals. Must be excited that 3 years looms! 🚇

Called into Redbank earlier this afternoon, 715 still in the ' agistment ' yard. Being worked on possibly doing something with brake lines.

A suggestion is that after lunch we head out to Wulkuraka for a look.  If you haven't been there well worth it.

Train to Ipswich then the Rosewood shuttle.

Three years on with the NGR trains ..

Greetings,

RAIL Back On Track Members will today gather at Redbank for a ' celebration ' of the first three years of our new trains
- the New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) trains.  The first NGR train 701 arrived at the Port of Brisbane on the 15th February 2016
and was subsequently towed to Wulkuraka on the 19th February 2016.  NGR 701 is now at Maryborough as Downer staff
undergo familiarisation training with the NGRs prior to the commencement of the DDA rectification program.

Video of the first NGR train being unloaded at the Port of Brisbane 15th February 2016

NGR 701 being towed to Wulkuraka, passing through Goodna 19th February 2016

Best wishes,

Robert

Great to catch up with some of our members at Redbank today.

Thanks guys for coming along. We had a great chat about many things, but what impressed me was that everyone was pretty much on the same wavelength when it came to improvements.  We will soldier on.   :-c :-t
