The excellent bowen hills growth can be attributed mainly from all the commercial development in and around newstead.
Many rail commuters doing the 5-10 min walk up/down monpelier rd to the banking/retail etc precints. Good exercise for them as well

This is why the 199 should be extended from Teneriffe to Bowen Hills Station for these workers, particularly through the Gasworks area. The current 393 is pretty weak yet has so much potential.

Any commuters coming from the north have to change at Fortitude Valley for a CityGlider which is a fairly significant backtrack (or walk as TB said).
