If you do, wait a couple of months.  The new one will be out in June/July.  But yes - everyone should at least try an iPhone.  The user experience is amazing when compared to other phones.

The app makes navigating threads easier.  I'll post more as I use it.

There is a free "read only" version to try it out.  The full version costs $3.99 in the app store.

Thanks, I will give it a go in July, unless the present models become very cheap.  Life as an early adopter can be a struggle at times ... LOL

In view of some requirements from Apple and possibly others, https has been activated for this forum.

Message from Tapatalk

QuoteApple requiring HTTPS for all apps

Beginning January 1, 2017, Apple is requiring all apps to secure connections via HTTPS and certain other security requirements.  These new requirements are called App Transport Security, or ATS.  For more information, see TechCruch  and/or  Apple Developer

At least in the near term, Apple is expected to allow apps already approved in the App Store to remain there without being updated. However, as of Jan. 1 all new and revised apps submitted to Apple for approval will need to be ATS-compliant. To be ATS-Complaint, a sites must use HTTPS.  Sites using HTTP will not be in compliance with ATS requirements.   (So far, Google is not enforcing the HTTPS requirement for Android apps)

For any sites still using HTTP, we strongly recommend you upgrade to HTTPS as soon as possible.  Upgrading your site to HTTPS is not difficult and your hosting provider may be able to help you with this. Security certificates are required for each of such sites, and this too can be obtained through your hosting company or elsewhere.

Once you update to HTTPS, you can login to Tapatalk>Sites>Site Settings and update your Forum URL.

For all Premium Tier customers, we will submit an update to be your iOS app to version 5.3 before December 15, so even sites still using HTTP will be updated.

Tapatalk have not made that available for SMF forums.  They appear to be slowly working something up ( have been for years ) so like CRR it is coming!

SMF doesn't seem to have that functionality natively anyway, so...

Taptalk have changed their parameters and now new posts no longer display.:( Hopefully it's just an interim thing? The new post feature is good as it displays the latest post in the forum without necessarily being subscribed to a particular thread.

ozbob

^ I have updated the plugin.  Does that do anything?

Thanks.  Not sure why that it is.  Nothing as changed on the forum so something with tapatalk.  I will see if it has been reported on their forum.

Nothing found so I have put in a support request to Tapatalk.  Thanks for the image that makes it easier to resolve.  Might be a few days before they get back to me.
