Discussion - better ways of maintaining service with less trains/crew

Today's reduced service timetable (one hour all lines, 2 hour Sunshine Coast, 30 minute BNE branch) is grossly inadequate for the overall community.  It might suit Queensland Rail, doesn't fit with anyone much else I am afraid. Breaks connections, people being caught out with much longer journey times all over the joint.  Turning people off public transport.

There has to be better ways of maintaining better frequency with reduced crew. 

I think they need to bite the bullet and come up with a much better reduced service timetable model using shuttles, as  this mess today is just a harbinger of what is to come no doubt, if they are left to their mediocrity.

We need to think about how we can model proposals in simple terms.

A start point.

Nambour <> Caboolture  (one hour shuttle)

Caboolture <> Ipswich (30 minute service)

Petri <> Kippa Ring (30 minute shuttle)

BNE <> Gold Coast (30 minute service)

Ferny Grove <> Beenleigh (30 minute service)

Cleveland <> Park Road (30 minute shuttles).

Darra <> Springfield Central (30 minute shuttles)

Ipswich <> Rosewood (one hour shuttles)

Shorncliffe <> Northgate (30 minute shuttles)

Doomben <> Eagle Junction (one hour shuttle)

Folks might have to transfer but this is preferable to the pathetic frequency today for example.
