Minor timetable and service changes are being made to bus services across Brisbane's northern suburbs, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast region.

Last updated: 9.43am Friday 23 September 2016

This is a result of other network changes associated with the opening of the new Redcliffe Peninsula train line.

Route 649 changes

Route 649 is a railbus, servicing train stations between Caboolture and Nambour to cover gaps in the current Sunshine Coast line timetable.

From Tuesday 4 October, trains on the Sunshine Coast line will run every 90 minutes, with more improvements planned with the opening of the Woombye stabling yards in 2017.

This means there are less gaps in the train timetable that need to be filled with a railbus and, as a result, we're reducing the number of route 649 services from 26 to 16.

To provide a more consistent and easier to understand timetable, route 649 will also service every station between Caboolture and Nambour.

Route 649 will still operate Monday to Friday only.

Bribie Island buses timetable changes

As a result of wider changes in the Caboolture network, minor timetable changes are being made to services in Bribie Island on Tuesday 4 October.

This simply means your bus may arrive or depart earlier or later than it currently does.

Effected routes are:

    641
    642
    643
    644

Make sure you check your new timetable or plan your journey before you travel.

Buses connecting to Caboolture and Sunshine Coast line trains

To allow for the new services on the Redcliffe Peninsula line, some timetable changes need to be made to trains on the Caboolture and Sunshine Coast lines.

This means that, on Tuesday 4 October, we also need to change timetables of connecting buses. Make sure you check your new timetable or plan your journey before you travel.

There will be no other changes to these services - it just means your bus may arrive or depart earlier or later than it currently does.

Route 615 northbound now finishes about an hour earlier than what it currently does. Kind of the shame that the 605/615 were not upgraded to take advantage of the more consistent train timetables.

Yes, and their maintenance activities.
Some 2 6 weeks ago (actually 16 August 2016) I reported a Go Card ticket machine at Platform 2 Maroochydore Bus Station, that would not EFTPOS more than $100 even when my Go Card only had less than $10 left on it. (so no $250 limit on card issue).

Today, still the same problem.

They really deserve an award for their level of hopeless.

This may be a bank issue, they could restrict the transaction size at some unattended terminals if they have a history of high fraud rates.

^ I've never encountered an AVVM that would do more than $100 by EFTPOS - I thought they were all set up that way.

If you want to use a machine to put more than $100 on, it's been 2 separate transactions, or use cash.

cheeky what have they done with the 640...

the inbound suffered greatly from early running to aerodrome rd(consistent 5-8mins early) due to the 100km/h free run.

current timetabled time between woorim/aerodrome rd >> 44mins
new timetabled time between woorim/aerodrome rd >> 36mins

problem fixed...excellent...however

current timetabled time between aerodrome rd/Caboolture station >> 6 mins (never takes anymore than 8 mins)
new timetabled time between aerodrome rd/Caboolture station >> 14 mins?

Total trip time old and new 50mins(no change)....they have just transferred the fat instead of cutting it..
So that timetabled rail-bus connection gap is not 7 mins as stated but will more than likely be consistent 13 mins......which imo is too generous for a route which has a near 100% on-time running record...

Stillwater

Maybe to give drivers flexibility to wait for a late-running train?

techblitz

^ my bad I meant bus - rail connection gap.
But your right SW...it does give some flexibility for drivers to leave a little late for the outbound services in case of late running trains however this is not normal timetabling practice....

Thank you SR.
Rail Station staff had told me that it should be able to do more than $100. That said, perhaps you are right.
