:-t Twin bored tunnels [with loooonnnggg term capacity for two more, ie, 4 - Melb underground style] from rail-yards at Bowen Hills out toward Petrie.....been on that corridor a bit of late...looking a decade + down the track....it'll struggle with traffic demands....could allow for limited stop 2/3 stations in new areas maybe too and, if possible, a "interchange" with the existing corridor somewhere......

One for the ever growing Qld  :pfy: backlog.......
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:

True, but id use the trouts rd corridor, since you can avoid a lot of tunnelling and fit a quad and a motorway, and have the interchange at Strathpine.

I feel like I'm missing some context here....

Context:

Existing inner northern Brisbane rail corridor - a 100yr old "creeping" styled train corridor, great for "local" trains, servicing the inner suburban stations, but much like Roma St to Beenleigh on the GC line, not able to handle the need for more rapid, longer distance services beyond.....

Ah, I see, well In that case I agree with Gazza

Build CRR with tunnel stubs out towards Kelvin Grove, run your tunnel from there to Trouts and use the preserved corridor to get you through to straphpine. Adds new services to otherwise un-serviced areas, takes pressure off the ferny grove line to a degree, is direct and can be easily integrated into CRR
