Redland Bay Marina bus station

We're one step closer to delivering the new Redland Bay Marina bus station with construction expected to commence in early 2016.

Thanks to your feedback and our collaboration with Redland City Council and State Government agencies, the design for the new station is now complete and ready for delivery.

Following the declaration of a Priority Development Area in June 2013, TransLink has continued to work closely with State Government agencies and Redland City Council to ensure the new station meets the wider vision for Redlands. The result of this collaboration is that the station will be upgraded in its current location.
Information sessions

Come talk to us about your new station at our information sessions in early March.

Bus and ferry timetables during construction

It's unlikely that there will be changes to bus and ferry timetables during construction. We'll continue to keep you informed of any temporary service changes or delays.
How we have listened to you

In July 2012, we invited you to comment on a draft design for the new station and help us finalise the design.

Some of the key comments you raised were:

Include more windows within the enclosed waiting area to ensure passengers can maintain a view of arriving buses, the kiss 'n' ride and the carpark
Increase the number of kiss 'n' ride bays
Ensure the bus shelter roof design provides adequate shelter for passengers
Extend the shelter for bus platforms across to the kiss 'n' ride and emergency bay
Improve bus and vehicle access to the bus station and within the car park.

We have considered all feedback and have addressed your concerns where possible.
Benefits of the new station

The new Redland Bay Marina will:

Cater for current and future demand for bus services in Redland Bay and other nearby areas
Improve the waiting environment for public transport customers who transfer between ferry and bus services
Provide high-quality passenger information to help inform your travel options
Improve safety and security for passengers including a designated pick-up and drop-off zone to prevent motorists stopping in bus bays
Provide layover facilities for bus services and drivers in Banana Street
Include retail spaces to activate the precinct and offer a great opportunity to establish new local businesses.

Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...
