TRANSLINK'S GoCard call centre has crashed following a communciations breakdown being blamed on Telstra and passengers are urged to use alternative methods to top up their accounts.
A Translink spokesman said Telstra workers had just arrived at their call centre in Milton although they were yet to determine the problem or how long it would take to resolved the situtation.

"Our website is still running and people can still use machines at the stations or other alternatives such as 7-11 stores and other third party agents to add value to their cards," he said.

"It's only affecting our call centre and it's a fault with the Telstra network.

"People can still ring up and we can access their accounts over the website if they wish to provide that information.

"We understand if they don't."

The fault was detected around 2.15pm and and he said it's isolated only to their call centre.

"The gocard system, including the go card website, fare machines, retailer network and train
station ticket offices is operating normally."
