Brisbane bikeways: Council silent on $5 million cycle plan

A perceived lack of council action to fix the dangerous corner where a Danish tourist was killed has caused cycling advocates to commission their own plans for a $5 million bikeway.

Rebekka Meyer died instantly when a truck clipped her bicycle and dragged her under its back wheels at a set of traffic lights in Woolloongabba on September 11, 2014.

Bicycle Queensland labelled the intersection of Annerley Road and Stanley Street the most dangerous in Queensland and said finding a fix was the advocacy body's "key issue".
