The poor didums. Bridges and railways in general require maintenance - Maintenance that is generally planned up to two years in advance in order to get everything ready. I'd rather the bridge be maintained!

Reminds me of the scene from Speed "this bus can't go below 55MPH - but the bridge isn't finished"  :-r

Why are they whining?

It isn't like the Indooroopilly rail bridges are quiet - if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the noise of the trains going over the bridge from where I am (about 1.5km away). I'd take a bet that the freight and passenger trains are going to be noisier over Christmas than any maintenance works that are scheduled. Much ado about nothing really.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

With a light westerly I can hear the Alma Rd Dakabin bridge (near the station) which is 3km away!
