Interview with Adam from TTA on ABC 612 this morning at 7.40am -he stated that the very minor tweaks to timetables commencing 28.07.08 are the last and only changes to be made between now and the end of 2008.

I seriously hope that this was just a case of a lack of information provided to the TTA representative otherwise it means the significant changes promised in September 2008 won't be happening. :o :o

The Minister's office has said recently that more services for the Ipswich line would be forthcoming in September.

Looks like the points are set against us or there has been a change of plans ... In any case we will follow up in due course.

Here is the article --> http://backontrack.org/mbs/index.php?topic=982.0

From Quest Ipswich News 5 June 2008 page 11

Now that we have the commitment for the ongoing roll out of the new trains, hopefully a ramp up of frequency of all lines will now happen in a steady manner as each batch becomes available for service, crew are in place and stabling arrangements are progressively put in place.

I have asked TTA for further clarification on the comments made above as reported by Mozz on 612 ABC Brisbane, particularly in view of the conflicting comments from the Minister's Office re Ipswich line.

Does anyone know when platforms 1 & 2 will reopen at Brunswick Street? Things look almost complete, but QR give a finishing date of December. It probably would not make sense to introduce a whole new timetable before then. However, I would like to see services added as and when the new SMUs are introduced.
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2007 - 7tph
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2010 - 4tph
* departures from Central between 16:30 and 17:30.

Stephen, I think the bigger concern is getting the Main lines back between Corinda and Roma Street to start running the expresses (and freight) normally again. Nothing like having an all-stopper delaying your express every morning due to the pathing issues. The overtake used to happen at Corinda, now due to the last timetable revision they let the all-stopper go ahead causing more delays.

That is a good point. So when will the track work between Corinda & Roma Street be finished?

The trackwork looks to be completed (haven't seen the track machines stabled at Sherwood for the last 2 weeks). More work is going on with the re-signalling project and as well there are still safety issues with trains running past Indooroopilly. Although I have seen two instances of freights on the Main lines in the last 2 weeks (Westlander QLX transfer to Roma Street, and a 2836 on a northbound freight)
