The AM peak period includes services commencing after 6.00am and arriving at Central before 9.00am.

The PM peak includes services that depart Central after 3.30pm and arrive at their terminating destination before 6.30pm.

From http://www.queenslandrail.com.au/RailServices/City/Pages/On-TimeRunning.aspx

QuoteThe on-time running of City network services is a priority for Queensland Rail. We make every effort to ensure our services adhere to the published timetable.

Our on-time running performance targets are the most stringent in Australia. We aim to have more than 94.53% of our peak period services arrive. All services, including peak and off-peak, are measured on time when they arrive within three minutes and 59 seconds of their scheduled time (5 minutes and 59 seconds on interurban services; ie Gold Coast, Rosewood and Nambour).

Sometimes incidents beyond Queensland Rail's control may delay our services (force majeure). Such incidents may include onboard medical emergencies, security incidents, vehicles striking level crossing boom gates or severe weather activity. Because these incidents are out of Queensland Rail's control, they are not included in the contractual results. However Queensland Rail recognises delays, regardless of their cause, affect customers, and this is reflected in the customer impact figures.

Data presented is for the morning and afternoon peak periods over the past five days.

Something broke down yesterday morning on the Ipswich line? I waited an extra 15 or more minutes for the 10.12 for Ipswich at Indro while 2 up trains went through. Perhaps it was a freighter that passed on the same line at 10.30 that got in the way.

Not sure if it would have affected the schedule up to 10am yesterday, but there was a power outage in the CBD/Valley that affected several of the lines after 8:15. I mentioned this in the service interruptions thread, the Ipswich/Rosewood train that was scheduled to arrive at 8:30 at Roma Street was delayed due to this issue. They eventually got an empty train come from the south (I'm guessing one of the trains that had previously terminated at Roma Street) and continue along that line, that was just before 9am. Its possible that this issue put all of the train schedules out of whack for a while since it happened in the CBD bottleneck.
