Weekly travel update: Thursday 11 December to Sunday, 21 December 2014
Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around Melbourne and regional Victoria between Thursday 11 December and Sunday, 21 December 2014. There will be some changes to services so that we can carry out important works to improve the network. While most services are running as normal, please check if any of the following changes affect you. Before you travel, visit our Live travel updates page for the latest travel information.

Metro Trains - Frankston line
Due to electrical improvement works, buses will replace the last two train services from Moorabbin and Frankston stations on Saturday, 13 December 2014.

From City
  • 12:35am from Flinders Street (bus departs 1.07am at Moorabbin)
  • 1:05am from Flinders Street (bus departs 1.37am at Moorabbin)

Metro Trains - Sunbury line
Due to track and signalling works as part of the Calder Park Train Stabling Project, buses will replace trains between Sunshine and Sunbury stations from 7.30pm on Friday 12 December until last service on Sunday, 14 December 2014.

Metro Trains - Syndal Station
Due to construction work as part of the Syndal Station Multi-Deck Car Park Project, part of the Syndal Station car park will be closed from Saturday, 6 December 2014 until late 2015.

The western section of the car park on the corner of Blackburn Road and Coleman Parade will be fenced off and used as a construction site.
The eastern section of the car park on Coleman Parade, as well as the car park on Hunter Street, will remain open throughout construction work.

Yarra Trams - Summer Holiday Timetable alterations
Due to the Christmas and holiday traffic changes, tram services between December and January will run to a normal frequency. However, times may differ slightly from the published timetable. For real time information, customers are advised to use The PTV apps or tramTRACKER™.

Yarra Trams - Route 11 and 86
Due to works for the preparation of high capacity trams, the following stops on Route 11 and 86 trams will be relocated on Sunday, 14 December 2014.

Route 11
To West Preston: Stop 37 (Miller Street and Gilbert Road) and Stop 38 (Oakover Road and Gilbert Road). These stops will be relocated approximately 45 metres north of their existing locations.

Route 86
To Bundoora RMIT: Stop 39 (Ballantyne Street and High Street). This stop will be relocated approximately 15 metres north of its existing location.

Yarra Trams - Route 55
Due to power upgrade work in Royal Park, the following alterations will take place to Route 55 trams from the first service to the last service on Saturday 13 December and Sunday, 14 December 2014.

Route 55
Trams will operate as Route 55a between:
  • Stop 20 (Domain Interchange) and Stop 26 (Royal Park Station).
Buses will replace trams between:
  • Stop 26 (Royal Park Station) and Stop 45 (West Coburg). 
Please note: buses will divert around work zone with Stop 28: (Park Street), Stop 29: (Brunswick Road), and Stop 45: West Coburg (Bell St) not operating services during this time.

Metro buses - NightRider services
NightRider services for Lilydale/Croydon, Belgrave/Knox, Frankston and Dandenong will be increased to run every 15 minutes between 2am and 3.30am on weekends until Christmas.

V/Line - Bendigo line
Due to track works, coaches will replace selected trains on the Bendigo, Swan Hill and Echuca lines between Friday 12 December and Sunday, 14 December 2014.
