Sucks if you wanted to access Oxford Street by Ferry on a Sunday...

James

For a highly patronised ferry stop like Bulimba, this is a gross underservicing of the area. Half-hourly peak frequency, non-existent services during the day all week (Monday - Sunday), and if you want to leave Bulimba at night? Too bad so sad, your bus might not run in the first place (unless its a Saturday night).

If they were going to put on a ferry shuttle, they should at least make it meet every CityCat. On the other hand, the people of Bulimba might suddenly get used to actually having a proper PT service...
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

Improvements to Bulimba Ferry Terminal bus service
22 August 2014 at 18:21

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise of improvements to the 237 ferry replacement bus service as part of the Bulimba Ferry Terminal upgrade. In response to community feedback, a number of improvements to the service will be implemented from Monday 25 August.

Morning peak services from 25 August

Between 6.20am and 8.35am Monday-Friday, the bus loop will operate on a 15-minute frequency (increased from a 30-minute frequency).Passengers are advised to allow extra time in in their journey to reach their destination. The 237 ferry replacement bus service operates on a loop that takes approximately 24 minutes.

The 230 and 232 buses will continue to run on their current timetables. These timetables are available at www.translink.com.au or by calling 13 12 30.

Afternoon and evening services from 25 August

The Bulimba Ferry Terminal shuttle service will run the full loop from Hawthorne to Apollo Road until the last ferry service. Previously, it left Hawthorne Ferry Terminal on demand only after 7.30pm.

Brisbane City Council requests that passengers touch on and touch off the shuttle service. This does not incur any additional journey costs and the data assists Council to monitor service usage and improve services.

Council is providing this temporary bus loop for residents during construction of the ferry terminal.

For more information on the Bulimba Ferry Terminal upgrade contact Council on 1800 669 416 or 3403 8888 (out of hours), email ferryinfrastructure@brisbane.qld.gov.au or visit www.brisbane.qld.gov.au and search 'Bulimba Ferry Terminal'.
