Some questions the survey asks:

How should resources be allocated between ridership and coverage goals? *
Public Transport serves two opposing goals. Ridership services seek to maximise ridership (thick red lines). Examples of ridership oriented services are 111 Eight Mile Plains BUZ, 222 Carindale BUZ, 333 Chermside BUZ, 444 Moggill BUZ. Coverage services seek to maximise access to a basic level of public transport (thin green lines). Examples of coverage oriented services are 105 Indooroopilly via Yeronga, 203 Carindale , 354 Chermside, 417 Long Pocket.

Should Brisbane's bus service focus more on The Peak Hour (Rocket Buses) or All Day Service (BUZ routes)? *
Peak hour services only operate during rush hours on weekday mornings and afternoons. All day services operate around the clock.

Are you willing to have some people on the network connect, with a short wait at a civilised facility, if this is the key to massively expanding your public transport network without increasing fares? *

Also a FREE TEXT AREA where you can write pretty much WHATEVER YOU LIKE regarding bus routes, far better than the TransLink/BCC approach of 'which bus route do you use most often'. Comment on ANY service.

Media release 8th November 2014

Brisbane Bus Reform: New Bus Network Survey Now Open!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers has opened its bus reform survey.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Following the successful launch of our integrated bus network reform proposal (1,2), we are asking the public for their thoughts, ideas and feedback. Unlike previous government consultations, our consultation puts no restriction on what route(s) may be commented on and we show the entire bus network, not just isolated routes."

"The public can also zoom into their suburb, their house, their workplace and see the strength and weakness of the Brisbane City Council bus network both currently and what it would be like under our proposed bus reform."

As at November 8th, the current breakdown of responses is:

Brisbane Southside (the area with 100 series routes)   23%
Brisbane East (the area with 200 series routes)      15%
Brisbane Northside (the area with 300 series routes)   35%
Brisbane West (the area with 400 series routes)      19%
Buses in my area are not BCC buses      8%

"If you want more bus services to your area, you must take our survey! ----> http://tiny.cc/busreform

"We have also prepared a banner for sharing across facebook and #BusReform for use on twitter as well."
