^ good, looks like they now are referring to actual figures (not contractural).

Good effort.  However, would be greatly improved with all line break up, and number of services altered to bypass in each peak reported. It is small but would improve the rigour of the data.

Where is bus/ferry OTP?

JOINT STATEMENT
Premier
The Honourable Campbell Newman

Minister for Transport and Main Roads
The Honourable Scott Emerson

More passengers on board with record train performance

Up to 20,000 more train passengers a day are getting to work or school and returning home on time with Queensland Rail hitting an all-time high for peak on-time running.

Premier Campbell Newman and Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson said last financial year, more than 96 per cent of peak services arrived at their destinations on time – some of the best on-time running performance in Australia.

"The result is a credit to the ongoing focus of Queensland Rail staff to deliver a safe and reliable rail service as part of our strong plan for a brighter future for all public transport users," Mr Newman said.

"We have improved on our record from the previous financial year that saw trains arrive on time during peak periods 93 per cent of the time, up significantly from performance under Labor which languished in the 80s.

"The LNP continue to focus on improving the reliability of public transport services which is great news for passengers wanting to get to work, school or university."

Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson said in addition to more trains running on-time, a new timetable launched in January had delivered an extra 1000 train services each week with turn up and go frequency on the Beenleigh, Cleveland, Caboolture and Shorncliffe lines.

"In the first six months of the new timetable, we have been able to maintain on-time running which is now ahead of Sydney and Melbourne even though we have much tougher on-time parameters," Mr Emerson said.

"We've also maximised existing resources to ensure our passengers have a more comfortable ride on their commute, with improved customer loading across all lines. These figures show we continue to deliver on our election promise to improve reliability and frequency of the public transport network, which is driving more and more people to choose the bus and train over their car."

bullsh%t. Yes, the time before a train is PUBLICLY reported as running late is shorter in QLD, but that's about it!! In Sydney, if a train is altered to run express past any stations it was supposed to stop at, it is classed as late/cancelled. If there is a fresh turnout for a late running train (ie: Late running Penrith to City train, a new, on time service starts at Strathfield while the old train is at Granville), the train is classed as cancelled for that section of the journey, as well as the late running of the original service.
Also, if trains run more than 60sec late, the guard in Sydney must fill out and submit a delay slip. So while it is not publicly reported, it is most certainly internally reported. QR don't really care until they hit the publicly reportable late running time.

Just watch the QR Social Media team sprout on about this.  As much as a few of the QR social media are nice people, a number of others on that team are also very good at spin and are just as hopeless at deflecting (the hard) questions put forward to them (which would normally be asked by enthusiasts such as us) by all walks of life, especially when most on the page are aware of QR's dodgy OTR practices (as Petey3801 had outlined already).

Oh, forgot to add, Sydney report ALL delays in their OTP (there is no ACTUAL and FORCE MAJEURE differentiation) whether it is their fault or not, ie: If a freight train breaks down and delays a number of Sydney Trains services, those services are reported as being delayed, just as if it was a Sydney Trains train that had broken down. Or, if there was a dewirement that wasn't Sydney Trains' fault and caused an entire peak period service to not run on a line, the OTP would include it as delayed/cancelled trains. A train has been delayed, it's that simple!
