trains averaged 50 on affordability last year
has not hit 50 once this year by the looks of it...
id put the average this year for train at around 49 at best
bus at 52...so about in between a 3-4 number gap now when it was closer to 2 between these modes last year.
expect it to probably widen further next year...perhaps 48 average for train with perhaps no change for bus...

Worse than predicted...and paints a clear picture when comparing train-bus on affordability....
For january....Train down to 44 from 49 average and bus down only 1 to 51....now a 7-8 point difference!

^ TB, rail affordability is far worse because the quantum is generally larger (longer trips) plus when you also mentally factor in poor frequency, lack of connections it is slammed. 

There is also still some lingering impacts I suspect with the loss of periodicals, particularly rail and some with the loss of the ten trippers on bus.

February data will be very interesting.  I am guessing but affordability may be worse. 

They often put up the snapshot data late Friday's in an attempt to minimise adverse publicity.  They really don't care for the public only their self image ...

February 2014 public transport performance data

Looking forward to the February 2014 Public transport performance data.  Not yet available.

It is usually made publicly available late Friday, obviously in an attempt to minimise adverse media publicity.

The lack of detailed public transport data in Queensland is a major concern.  Other states make detailed data readily available, not in Queensland.  Obviously a lot to hide hey?

What is made publicly available is a very superficial data set.  We know this as in 2011 TransLink mistakenly put up the ' Minister's TransLink Tracker ' on their web site instead of the sanitised public version of the TransLink Tracker for a short time  ...  [The TransLink Tracker was the equivalent of today's Public transport performance data].

Failed fare system, failed bus reviews, little wonder secrecy and contempt is the game.

SEQ: Call for transparency and accuracy with public transport data

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers has called for the routine public release of detailed and accurate, performance and load data for public transport, as in other states of Australia (1,2,3,4).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Detailed load and performance data for public transport in south-east Queensland is not made publicly available as in other states."

"Data made available on the TransLink website is a 'sanitised' version of a more complete version for non-public use. We would much prefer the non-sanitised version!"

"We call on TransLink to make publicly available timely and accurate performance and load data for all railway lines, bus and ferry routes, peak and non peak."

"Bus performance data has not been published for some time, when it was it was grossly inaccurate and a farce. Other states manage to publish bus data, what's the problem in Queensland?  Incompetence, secrecy or cover-up?"

"We call on TransLink to make publicly available complete ticketing and  go card data, including the number of free trips made on each day of every week."

"Why is it necessary to resort to Right To Information requests for data that is made readily available in other states?"
