2016 Ekka Travel Ticket

TransLink is just the ticket for Ekka!

It's cheap and easy to get to Ekka this year with TransLink's $6 and $3 return travel tickets* and extra bus and train services.

With an Ekka travel ticket, you can get to and from the Brisbane Showgrounds from anywhere on the TransLink network for just $6 for adults and $3 for child/concession*.

Travel tickets can be purchased from Friday 22 July and throughout the show from any attended Queensland Rail train stationOpens in a new window.. Travel tickets can also be purchased on the day you travel to Ekka on-board any TransLink bus except pre-paid services), CityCat or City Cross River Ferry service (excludes CityHopper).
Ekka travel tickets

Ekka travel tickets can be purchased at train stations and on-board CityCats, City Cross River Ferries (excludes CityHopper), regular scheduled buses (except pre-paid services) and dedicated Ekka buses.

To purchase your travel ticket you'll need to show a valid Ekka entry ticket, except on-board dedicated Ekka buses (on these services you don't need a pre-purchased Ekka ticket as you can buy your ticket at the Ekka entry gate).

Travel tickets purchased on-board CityCats, City Cross River Ferries and buses are valid on the date of purchase only. Travel tickets purchased at train stations are valid on the nominated date of travel only.

Ekka travel tickets are not available for purchase from fare machines.

* Conditions of use for Ekka travel ticket:

    The Ekka travel ticket is only valid for travel to and from Brisbane Showgrounds between Friday 5 August and Sunday 14 August 2016.
    Customers must be in possession of a valid Ekka Ticket (printed online or printed RACQ) or Ekka Pass (includes Member, Member guest, staff, Contractor, Exhibitors, Media and Crew) to purchase the Ekka travel ticket from a Queensland Rail ticket office or on-board normal scheduled bus services.
    Ekka travel tickets are only available from attended Queensland Rail ticket offices or on-board bus (except pre-paid services), CityCat or City Cross River Ferry services (excludes CityHopper).
    Inbound and outbound journeys must be completed on the same day (or the last scheduled service of the day).
    For dedicated Ekka shuttle buses travelling directly to Brisbane Showgrounds, customers can purchase their Ekka travel ticket without being in possession of an Ekka Ticket or Ekka Pass.
    Tickets purchased from attended Queensland Rail ticket offices will be undated. Customers will need to write in biro pen the date of travel on the ticket prior to travel.
    Ekka travel tickets are non-refundable and not transferable from one person to another.
    Concession entitlement cards must be carried when travelling and produced upon request to verify eligibility.
    Ekka travel tickets are only valid for travel on the date of purchase on-board the bus or ferry.
    The combined Ekka entry and travel ticket is only available for purchase at attended Queensland Rail stations.
    The Ekka travel ticket can be used on all TransLink integrated, scheduled and special event transport.
    Normal TransLink ticketing and fares apply on all TransLink services.
    go card can be used to travel to and from Ekka. Normal go card fares apply. Exhibition station will be zone 1.
    There will be no additional charge for the loop service between Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley stations.
    Not valid for travel on Airtrain services.
    Transfers are permitted in order to travel to Exhibition station or Ekka precinct bus stop.
    Ekka precinct bus stops are within the boundary of Herston busway, O'Connell Terrace, Brookes Street, St Pauls Terrace and Bowen Bridge Road.
    When travelling on Queensland Rail services, the Ekka travel ticket is valid for travel to and from Exhibition station only. 
    When travelling on bus services, the Ekka travel ticket is valid for travel to and from bus stops in the Ekka precinct only (refer to map below).
    Companion card holders must be in possession of a valid ticket ($6 adult or $3 child/concession Ekka travel ticket, paper ticket, approved pass like VITP or go card). Companions are entitled to travel free of charge.
